We are so excited that today was our first Sunday livestreaming with our new set-up!
Thank you to Deena Long and family for generously donating the new camera, which is mounted at the rear of the sanctuary. A volunteer operates the camera remotely throughout the service to cut back and forth between camera views and slides.
We also have a new livestream encoder box and software that allows us to livestream using our sound board and microphones throughout the church. For the past year, all of the livestreaming was done via a smart phone and, while better than nothing, was still no comparison to a real camera and audio through the sound board.
We also have a new laptop and church presentation software to create slides with the words of scripture, prayers, images and announcements. Thank you to Mark and Jen Poffenberger for learning the new software and handling the slides and audio.
Today, we experienced some difficulty with pauses/interruptions during the livestream, which appeared to be caused by our internet connection at church. When you are in the building, please make sure you are not connected to our church’s wifi on your cell phone during the service. If you ever entered the church’s wifi password into your phone, it will likely remember it and automatically connect you as you arrive. Many devices on the same wifi network, eats up all the bandwidth we need for livestreaming without pauses. Thank you for understanding.
We are working out the kinks – learning how to make the service smoother and allow you to immerse more deeply into worship.
Please bear with us as we learn and grow and get better!
The altar flowers were given in memory of George and Marjorie Cline by their family.
Note – because we would like folks watching livestream to be able to see the announcement loop, the first few minutes of the video below is the loop. Please feel free to skip ahead in the video to the greeting if you like. Thanks!
