Micah’s Backpack is starting back up and we really need your help!
To serve the needs of hungry kids in our area, we are packing a total of 120 bags to serve hungry kids at 7 area schools. The bags will be distributed at Sharpsburg Elementary and Boonsboro Middle School including 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, snacks and 2 dinners each week.
DONATIONS – We need FOOD DONATIONS of 3 specific items currently: canned vegetables, applesauce cups and mac-n-cheese (either the microwaveable cups or regular size boxes).
– Drop off during food bank hours on Thursdays from 1 to 3pm at Trinity Lutheran
– Fill-A-Truck event on the next two Saturdays (Oct 31st and Nov 7th) from noon until 3 PM in the parking lot of Jockey’s Bar and Grille
– Drop off box at Fetch Thrift Shop

VOLUNTEERS – We also need VOLUNTEERS on Thursdays and Fridays:
Hand out the bags to kids on Fridays between 10:30am to 1:00pm in the school parking lots. You can volunteer just one Friday each month, but right now, we are in desperate need of volunteers as many Fridays as we can get. This job involves helping pick up bags from Trinity Lutheran and taking them to the schools.
AND/OR
Pack the bags on Thursdays between 1 to 2:30pm at Trinity Lutheran. We meet in the Funk Educational Wing, which is in the house next to the church. After we pack, we also need a few volunteers to stay a bit longer to help us replenish the stock room. This involves being able to carry a case of cans up and down stairs.
